Founded in 1994 and based in New York City, Apogee Design & Construction has built an excellent reputation in servicing the needs of industry-leading companies, welcoming each challenging project with the same determined attitude, and always producing a spectacular finish. BIOGRAPHY

THOMAS A. CALAMARI
CEO & Founder

Mr. Calamari has built an extensive portfolio and has worked with a number of  top rated architects and construction firms throughout his twenty-six year career. His experience has taken him through a vast array of projects ranging from residential homes, medical facilities, corporate offices, and high-end luxury retailers. Prior to establishing Apogee Design & Construction in 2000. Tom started as a field super at a large NYC based General Contractor and worked himself up to Senior Project Manager where he specialized in medical facilities and office fit outs. He has handled very complicated and specialized including  high-end commercial fit-outs and one of a kind custom retail projects as well as large urban scale projects such as the Flushing Bay Promenade and Shelter Rock Road residential home projects. Recently, he has migrated towards luxury retail, gaining loyal clients in Marc Jacobs,Proenza Schouler and Benefit Cosmetics.
Mr. Calamari holds a Bachelors Degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute and a Master of Science in Urban Design and Architecture from Columbia University.

ALAN KENNY
Principal

Alan joined the team in 2012 as the Principal and Chief Estimator, bringing over 20 years of experience in construction. He has an in-depth knowledge for estimating, budgets, cost analysis, and value engineering. He started his career with Rider Hunt International in their Los Angeles office and later he moved on to Structure Tone. Before coming to Apogee, he spent 13 years as a Senior Estimator, covering a wide range of projects, from new construction, high-end interiors, data centers, healthcare, retail and corporate offices. He holds a BSc Degree in Construction Economics and Quantity Surveying.

CHRISTOPHER J. KUNTZ
Principal

Chris is a talented and seasoned construction management executive with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He brings a wealth of expertise with particular strengths in pre-construction services,, value engineering, budgeting, design build, master scheduling and implementation. during his career he has constructed some of largest and logistically/technically complex projects in the tri-state area. He has also performed many projects around the country including LA, Chicago and Las Vegas.

Chris started his career as a carpenter while in college and has filled many other roles including superintendent, project manager, project executive and director of construction giving him a well rounded base of experience.
